Who Can Submit

We welcome submissions from law students, practicing advocates, law professors, legal researchers, and subject matter experts. Whether you're writing about a landmark judgment, analyzing recent legislation, exploring constitutional doctrine, or offering practical insights on legal practice—if your work is well-researched, original, and valuable to our readers, we want to publish it.

Simultaneous submissions are allowed. We typically review and respond within 7–10 business days. Accepted articles are published within 2–4 weeks of approval.

Submission Guidelines

Submit original, unpublished work in the following categories: case analysis (analyzing landmark or recent judgments), legislative commentary (exploring new laws or amendments), legal trends (identifying patterns in Indian jurisprudence), practice insights (practical guidance for practitioners), or academic essays (theoretical or doctrinal analysis).

Articles should be between 1,500 and 4,000 words. Include a 100–150 word abstract and 3–5 relevant keywords. Cite all sources using footnotes or endnotes in standard legal format (OSCOLA preferred). Submit in .docx format with a 50–100 word author bio.

Formatting Requirements

Use clear, professional headings (H2 for main sections, H3 for subsections). Format quotes over 40 words as block quotes. All legislation, case citations, and statute names should follow standard Indian legal conventions. Hyperlinks to primary sources (judgments, statutes, legislative materials) are encouraged.

Write in American English (consistency matters). Avoid colloquial language or personal opinions not grounded in primary sources. Articles may be slightly edited for clarity, grammar, and FairLex style—we'll share significant edits for approval before publication.

Editorial Standards

FairLex maintains strict editorial independence. We do not accept sponsored or promotional content. Articles must be original—plagiarism or paraphrasing without attribution is grounds for rejection. If your article discusses an ongoing case or matter where you have a direct interest, disclose it in your author bio.

All contributors retain copyright to their work. By submitting to FairLex, you grant us non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive your article in perpetuity. Your work may be republished in our newsletters, digital archives, and partner platforms.
